Exquisite Piercing & Tattoo

These photos show the window displays for Exquisite Piercing & Tattoo in downtown Bloomington. While you may not think of a shop like this as a retail venue or a place that sells things, it most certainly is. What is a person seeking a tattoo/piercing to go by when seeking out a place to get it done? The answer is usually reputation and word of mouth. However, these two things can be irrelevant if the shop does not look clean, professional, and inviting. I find this window to be well put together and to the point. The window cling grabs your attention and immediately lets you know what they are. The simple showcase of product shows they are a professional shop and can provide something additional other than piercing/tattoo service. The Proud Member of APP reassures the customer that they will be provided with a safe experience and let's them know they can even verify that on their own online. I think these windows do exactly what they need to for this business.

Another Word For...

These photos were taken of Another World For... Gifts, Plants, Decor's window displays in downtown Bloomington. I wanted to choose a variety of windows to compare, and this was definitely my least favorite display. In my opinion, there was no thought or time put into these windows. I realize it mostly a gift shop, but these displays do not make me want to come inside, let alone buy a gift for someone there. You can barely see what is in the display because the items sit so low, and there is no special attention paid to any items in particular to entice a potential customer walking by. If it weren't for this blog, I never would have even noticed that the store was there. (I have lived in Bloomington my entire life and I never knew it existed!!)

Gigi Bottega

These photos show a window display at Gigi Bottega in downtown Bloomington. This window display is quite simple, but very effective. This is a boutique, so nothing should be too over the top or over done. The main focus of these windows should be the mannequin and the clothes they are wearing. This display does that perfectly. There is an obvious fall theme with the pumpkins, but they do not distract from the mannequins. Although the pumpkins are semi cliche for this time of year, Gigi gives the display a unique flair by using white pumpkins instead of the traditional orange. I love the simplicity of the window.

Specs Around Town

These photos are of the window display at Specs Around Town in downtown Bloomington. The window is very suitable for the event that was going on. It was obviously the 15 year anniversary for the store, and they chose to do a promotion to celebrate that and reward their customers. The main focus of the window display is the 15 year anniversary rather than actual product. This works because the customers already know what kind of product they are getting. The anniversary just gives them a reason to come in, so I think the display works perfectly. It showcases a few special products while keeping the attention on the 15 year anniversary.
